Welp, Change of Plans

I didn’t get my walk in today as I’d hoped. The weather was soggy and cloudy all day, and my nerve pains were flaring. On top of that, I had to process the final 20lbs of apples into apple butter, and it took all day.

When I have nerve pain in my feet, it manifests as extreme tension and tightness in the toes on my right foot. An ache runs from pinky to outer ankle bone, and I can feel the inflammation under my skin, see it in the puffiness my foot takes on. Sometimes its becomes more than an ache, and there’s a sharpness to it between the joints of my toes and metatarsals. And thats just the one foot, the other has its own unique discomfort from where it was broken too.

Needless to say, today wasn’t great for walking.

Some days I am more able than others to carry my pain with me and ignore it, just another accessory. Other days, like today, it dictates to me my activities and unfortunately, my mood.

Being in pain for most of the day will make anyone grumpy. I am a grumpy Valkyrie, which means go away, it is in your best interest, leave me alone. I used Mindstilling several times throughout the day today, and it definitely helped keep my attitude in check.

I did get my yoga done. I did Valkyrie Yoga 1 and 2, back to back, and it felt fantastic to stretch out my sore, tense, body. I hadn’t realized I had been holding so much tension all over until I stretched and breathed through every limb, every sore spot. I also did some Foot Mobility work while watching Rings of Power with my husband. I did more of Valkyrie Yoga before bed to get any lingering tension out of my body, and then climbed into bed, where I’m typing this out.

Here’s hoping that tomorrow I can get my shoes on first thing in the morning and get outside.
