August 16 Hip Mobility

Three days ago I posted on Tiktok about doing Core and Balance and Hip Mobility training that Sam from The Micro Squad posted snippets of on her account, and that my muscles were so exhausted by the end of the day that I was struggling to hold myself upright.

Well this morning I apparently was suffering from some form of amnesia because I forgot how tired it made me and decided to do the drills again, because cycle day 2 and HELLO, my hips are so tight and creaky that I feel like the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz after a rain. So I hit my mat for some yoga and hip mobility, core and balance.

“You won’t be getting to swords yet. You need to learn to control your movements, your balance. You’ll develop basic strength and awareness of your body before you’ll ever pick up even a wooden practice sword.” He glanced at her laced up bots. “feet and breathing.” She blinked. “Feet?” “your toes especially.” He was completely serious. “What about my toes?” “Learning how to grip the ground, to balance your weight- it builds a foundation for everything else.” Page 138 A Court of Silver Flame

It’s been about 4 hours now since my workout and I’m ready for a nap. And a massage. Preferably from the General himself, but I bet I can get my husband to do it for me, and that will have to do.
