Aug 26: A.R.D.
The reality of my life as a Mother, is that sometimes, I don’t get to sleep properly.
Last night for example, my four year old decided that 3:30am was the ideal time for a bathroom ballad, and thus began the long hours of trying to coax him back to bed and to sleep. I was not successful until around 5:15a, and then the alarm clock for my husband to get going for work went off at 6am. Thank the Cauldron that his lunch was already packed, so all I had to do was press start on the coffee pot and kick him out of bed, so I could climb back into it.
Exhausted
Thus, my morning did not start out as planned, and I did not get to work out as I had intended. As I’m writing this, it is 10:00a, and I’ve only just sat down to eat breakfast and drink my tea. I’ve worked out a solid 4 days in a row now without a rest day however, so I suppose this is the Universe telling me that resting is good for me. Active Rest Day it is.
Once my meal settles, I fully intend on hitting the mat and doing my deep core and hip work and some yoga and breathing. And of course, walking Yrsa around the neighborhood. I will probably also get out my foam roller and roll around trying to loosen up these sore muscles after yesterday’s full body sore.
I ordered my new Yoga blocks and they’re due to arrive this afternoon! Part of me said “just wait until they get here, then do the yoga!” but I know that isn’t a good idea because I have the whole day of tense tired muscles to get through, and I’d rather limber up now. But having new Yoga Blocks with the moon phases a-la-Night Court, will probably inspire me to do some late day yoga too.
